Classroom Video Tutorials
There are so many great resources on the web that influence my students and teach them things I would never have time for in the classroom. The rise of the video uploading website You tube provided a platform never seen before. I recognize YouTube as more than simply a website to waste glorious afternoon hours on. I view it as a crucial learning tool that allows students to control their learning. With watching art tutorial videos, the students can pause, rewind, fast forward, and use headphones/closed captioning to get the very best experience.

For my video production class (CSE 660) I focused on creating a good tutorial to help show my students who may have missed several class periods how to make a lino cut print. It is very applicable to this portfolio and inspired me to create several other video tutorials using tools such as my DSLR camera and iPhone to record, tripods, microphones for recording sound, and iMovie as my software of choice.

I became increasingly more interested in video production after I took the video production class during my first spring semester. I have always relied on using other artists Youtube videos to help my classes learn new visual art concepts. I have used each of this this past school year as a trial run and I felt the results were strong. I chose to make videos showcasing a variety of different art mediums. I still have work to do and techniques to master, but now that this program is finished I plan on spending more time developing stronger videos that I can use in my classroom.
